This portion of the website is dedicated to sharing Journals that Mariya penned in the last years of her life - from fall of 2015 to fall of 2017. There 18 journals in all and I am still in the process of transcribing them into text. They are presented below in chronological order. Clicking on the link will bring up the transcribe text and a hyperlink below it that will take you to the scanned portion of the hand-written journal. Some portions of the journals are lightly redacted to keep other people anonymous. The YWAM years are predominantly notes taken in during her two Youth With a Mission (YWAM), but there are portions of deeply personal struggles, joy and despair, as she completely and utterly surrenders her life to our Creator, his Son and the Holy Spirit. Mariya experienced a utterly deep transformation in her life.
The portion covering her freshman year at Rhodes College are really written prayers as she wrestles with transitioning to the secular world. For those of you who comfortably reside in this world, you will be taken aback by the depth of her convictions and her firm resolution in living a fully surrendered life.
The last portion are of Mariya in her cancer journey. Here's a link to her Caring Bridge website where you can follow what she and her mother, Janice, posted there. Her faith never waivered and she wholly submitted herself to God's will. Former classmates and Janice's peers at Liberty Common High School formed came up with a logo of an elephant (Mariya's favorite animal) and the motto Mariya chose was Philippians 1:21, "To live is Christ, to die is gain."
On a technical note, the journal web page is the transcribed text broken into the separate pages in the journal. Clicking on the link below each section will take you to the scanned PDF of the hand-written journal and should land on corresponding page. Be patient when the PDF loads initially as this may take some time depending on your internet connection.
Not all of the journals have been published at this moment.
